Rachel Schallon, MA
Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Radford University and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Rachel divides her counseling time between ABT, Lewis Gale Behavioral Health, and the Blue Ridge Women’s Center. She has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with mental health crisis situations, planned and unplanned pregnancies, PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety and panic disorder. She offers counseling to older children, teenagers, individuals and couples. In treatment, Rachel uses CBT, DBT, Solution Focused and Narrative counseling modalities. As a counselor, Rachel believes in meeting her client’s where they are on their life’s journey and providing them with support and encouragement in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. She is passionate about helping people discover their inner strength and unlocking their potential.
Rachel has called Roanoke “home” for over 15 years. She is a Christian, wife and mother. She enjoys running, dancing, attending local events, paddle boarding, swimming and traveling. Rachel leads a Women’s Ministry at her church for mothers that helps to build relationships and offer support in motherhood. She is also on the team for an annual teenage girl Christian retreat through her church that focuses on building encouragement and developing strong friendships between teenagers.
