Teresa Witmer, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Teresa received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Psychology from Radford University in 1983, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in February 1997.
Teresa counsels individuals, ages 12 and beyond, couples, and families. Her areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, aging and medical issues, women's issues, issues around abuse and neglect, grief and loss, and addiction to alcohol, drugs, food, and gambling.
Teresa uses a variety of counseling approaches to assist those she see including cognitive-behavioral approaches, rational emotive behavioral therapy, humor, motivational therapies, family systems approach, and spiritual support.
She uses her client's strengths and motivations to change to build with the client a plan of care that works for them.
