Mrs. Billy-J Nunn received her bachelor’s in social work degree from Florida Atlantic University. Billy-J was born in Hollywood, Florida, and then moved to Southwest Virginia in 2013, where she has resided ever since. She completed her Master’s degree in social work from Walden University’s advanced standing program. Billy-J enjoys working with various demographics, ages, and needs of individuals. She has always felt those working through a substance abuse and recovery journey inspired her to pursue her path of serving others as a professional social worker, now resident therapist. Billy-J completed her long-standing goal of becoming a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in October of 2024 and is thrilled to bring that into her practice.
Billy-J’s style of therapy is strengths-based, bringing in mindfulness interventions and dialectical concepts when appropriate for individual treatment. Billy-J brings to her professional practice an empathetic, judgement-free, trauma-informed approach to problem-solving and clinical processing with each client.
