Aaron completed his graduate degrees at Liberty University and has been consistently involved in ongoing clinical care both at ABT, where he completed his internship and a portion of his residency, and at CBPBS where he acted as the Director of Clinical Services for over three years. He specializes in the care of patients and families struggling with Schizophrenia-type disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, trauma, and personality disorders. Aaron is certified in and utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Aaron’s experience has been primarily related to the development and progress of adult patients who are suffering from Schizophrenia-type disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety, and depression. He also works with clients who have a history of homelessness, hospitalization, incarceration, and the subsequent traumas that can occur from these experiences. He utilizes a solution-focused, trauma sensitive, and value-driven approach to assist patients in recognizing and building upon their internal motiviations to move forward through therapy. Aaron also works extensively with families who have loved ones suffering from severe mental health concerns. He assists families in developing understanding, building techniques for care and relationship, and providing support and skills for caregiver burnout.

Aaron goes by “AJ.” He’s been in counseling practice for several years as a Clinical Director working with a wide variety of adult patients and their families. Over the years, ABT Counseling has always been a place that he could develop his practice, build relationships and promote a supportive and therapeutic environment for his patients. He is enthused to join the ABT team in 2021 and looks forward to working with his patients.
