ADHD Resources

Whether you’ve had an Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) diagnosis for years or you’re just beginning to experience symptoms, ABT Counseling is here to support you. Here at ABT Counseling, we want to equip you with tools and resources to help you along your journey.

Our Clinical Director and Testing Center Administrator, AJ Reinhart, provides testing and screening services. In combination with these services, AJ finds value in providing ADHD resources as a part of the testing process. Below you will find two accessible ADHD resources that may help provide clarity for your personal experiences.

Text/Audio Resource – Driven to Distraction

Driven to Distraction by Edward Hallowell and John Ratey is one of our highly recommended ADHD resources. This book provides a practical review of how to deal with executive dysfunction as an adult. It offers a play by play of what individuals struggling with ADHD may experience and offers applicable ways to approach managing this diagnosis and its accompanying symptoms.

Driven to Distraction has helped individuals with ADHD feel validated in their experiences. The authors write in a way that allows individuals to feel seen and less alone as they navigate their own journeys. As an added benefit, if reading isn’t your preferred method, this book is also available as an audiobook.

Online Resource – chadd.org

In this day and age, accessing information online has never been easier. While this may be true, ensuring that the information you find is accurate is a challenge of its own.

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) provides empirically supported, peer reviewed clinical information on their website (chadd.org). Their website includes helpful worksheets, podcasts, infographics, and other resources for both children and adults. Of the available ADHD resources, this is a great option to explore if you are curious about ADHD and want to learn more to see what resonates with you.
