Based on data from 2022, Mental Health America (MHA) reports that all states across the country had record numbers of individuals with mental illness and no access to resources. According to these MHA reports, Virginia ranked 12th among the states in 2022 in providing mental health access to individuals requiring services. 1. Difficulty coping with or managing day to day life, including struggling to handle your emotions (particularly over long periods of time) or maintaining relationships
2. Changes in eating, sleeping, or activity habits and energy levels
3. Managing emotions through the use of substances or engaging in other unhealthy behaviors to cope
4. Feeling consumed by negative thoughts and engaging in negative self-talk, or being overly critical of yourself
