OBOT Works. Just ask Vinnie.

Recovery from heroin is difficult. But with the right team of professionals and friends or family around you, it works.

ABT Resident Counselor Vinnie Dabney is a recovering addict. He did heroin for 30 years. “Through my own process of healing and getting better, I appreciate the benefits of therapy and what it can do for you to turn your life around.” He’s now been clean and sober for 21 years!

Vinnie DabneyABT has an Office-Based Opioid Treatment program that works. It combines the patient seeing a medical doctor each week who prescribes Suboxone to help with the symptoms related to opioid withdrawal. The second key part of successful treatment is meeting with a substance abuse therapist each week. This program affords the greatest success outcomes possible to break addictions.

“A lot of recovery is about living in the present, not in the past. I was a heroin addict for 30 years. And I’m a cancer survivor and dialysis patient,” said Dabney. “But God’s got my back. As long as He lets me get up every morning, I can work.”

If you need help breaking the addictive nature of opioids, or if someone you love is struggling, there is hope. We can help. Our OBOT team is made up of three medical professionals and five counselors. Contact ABT Counseling to schedule an appointment or click here.
